On wednesday evening November 9 the meeting was organised by Orthopedie Geel at the “Four Wings” venue next to the E313 halfway between Antwerp and Limburg in the middle of the Kempen region. We had ove 30 people attending the meeting mainly from the surrounding hospitals but also coming from as far as Brussels, Antwerp, Bonheiden and even from Cologne in Germany.

Seven trauma case presentations where done covering the “failed ORIF and lessons learnt from it” . All cases where presented by the residents working in the Kempen hospitals: Annelien Brauns  (Geel), Jef Mast ( Bonheiden) , Sten Deschuyffeleer ( Herentals), Evelien Berkmans (Lier), Maartje Michielsen (Lier).

After each case an animated discussion  followed under the excellent guidance of our experts An Sermon from UZ Leuven and Dan Putinaneau from UCL. The presence of the experts was much appreciated by the attendants and was found to be a serious “added value” for such a discussion evening.
